Bridging the Gap Between Scrum & Design Practices

Design activities rarely seem to fit into “Sprints”. And it often feels appropriate to perform design work ahead of development. As a result, many teams struggle to incorporate all team members in the feedback loops that lead to high-quality design. This struggle is real, but solving this problem is worth the effort.

Development risks are mitigated by working in small, reversible steps — like the Sprint cadence. Scrum encourages teams to produce slices of new functionality each Sprint — design, development, testing, and delivery seem to occur simultaneously. As a result, many teams struggle to incorporate design activities that span multiple Sprints. This struggle is real, but solving this problem helps ensure the team is both building the right thing and the building the thing right.

The Professional Scrum with User Experience (PSU) course is a hands-on exploration of modern UX practices with Scrum. Learn UX techniques that fit beautifully with Scrum and practice these techniques with cross-functional teams in class.

Who Should Attend?

PSU is for anyone attempting to integrate the UX specialty with incremental & iterative development of product.

What People Say

It feels like I actually shadowed a Scrum Master.

Real Estate Agent

David’s extensive knowledge and experience provided an in-depth and thorough understanding of Scrum Mastery.

Video Game Producer

I have gone through Agile training before. I found that this class enhanced my knowledge and gave me tools I will use with my team and new ways to approach our work.

UI/UX Designer

Very Informative. The small size of the class allowed us to interact with one another and ask the instructor questions. I am on an Agile team, but still learned new concepts in this course.

UI/UX Designer

David was a great instructor! The structure of the class made it easy to follow and ask questions. The 1-on-1 format was helpful as well, as it was nice to be able to ask questions and discuss topics in more depth than a group session would allow. Highly recommend!

New Product Owner

David Sabine’s PSPO II training goes beyond theory — he creates an engaging, collaborative environment where every participant feels heard and empowered to deepen their understanding of the Product Owner role through thoughtful discussions and practical insights. His professional experience makes him an exceptional trainer, capable of adapting the material to your specific context and helping you apply Scrum to your unique challenges. He encourages reflection, welcomes every question without judgment, and was incredibly patient with me, even though English is my second language. He is also very approachable and eager to help, even after the course.

Product Manager

I recently attended the PSPO—A with David, and I absolutely loved the experience. David is an exceptional trainer — patient and attentive. What I appreciated most was how interactive the course was. The discussions were at the core of the training, and he actively encouraged reflection and welcomed different opinions. Every question I asked received a thoughtful and detailed response, which helped me deepen my understanding of the advanced concepts of the Product Owner role. I highly recommend this training to anyone looking to elevate their Scrum practice and develop a more strategic perspective of the Product Owner role. David has a way of making the content engaging while challenging your thinking, making the learning experience both enjoyable and impactful.
